Pretty, Prettier, Prettiest: Chambray Shirt Dress

Chambray Shirt Dress
There is something about chambray that I love. It looks so stylish, and laid back. I actually just purchased the "pretty" shirt dress from Old Navy this weekend. I think I am going to love chambray for the fall. Paid with riding boots, or tights will make the chambray dress perfect for fall. Speaking of...is anyone else ready for it to be fall? I am over summer!

Outfit Inspiration: Pop of Purple

I love the color purple! It's feminine without being overly girly like pink can be sometimes!
Love this neon purple nailpolish! Can be bought here.

How cute is this pop of purple on the leopard print flats?

LOVE the purple door! Picture found here.

This is my favorite type of necklace right now! Beautiful! Found here.

Pop of Purple in the the Painting! (That's a lot of P's)
All of this pretty purple inspired me to add a Pop of Purple in my outfit! Check out this awesome neon purple sheer blouse I found at Forever 21!
Where did I find my outfit?
Blouse: Forever 21
Tank: Marshalls
Jeans: Old Navy
Shoes: Shoe Carnival
Necklace: Dillards

Where do you like to add your Pops of Purple?

Happy Purple!

Work Place Attire for Every Budget

One of my biggest pet peeves is inappropriate work place attire...and my office is swimming in it. I work in a conservative industry, in a fairly formal office. I am not required to wear a suit everyday but business casual is expected unless otherwise noted. Now, not all offices are like that. Aly's office is much more casual. But, there some some clothing items you should never wear to an office. Many of my coworkers wear short skirts or dresses, low cut tops, see-through tops...you get the point. But, because they aren't wearing jeans, they pull it off as "business casual."

I've put together three outfits, at three price points, that I think are great for the office in the summer time. Did you notice I really like navy blue?

Work clothes by price

Outfit #1: Less Than $75
I really wanted to do an outfit less thant $50, but I had trouble finding pieces that I like. I am a sale shopper, so with more time to scower the internet, I am sure I could find a great outfit under $50...but for today I went with $75. I think navy blue and coral are beautiful together. This top, with a tie at the waste, will look great with capris.

Old Navy Canvas Capris in Coral $19.00
Merona Pleated Bib Tank $19.99
Old Navy Bow Tie Ballet Flats in Navy 19.94
Total: $58.93

Outfit #2: Less than $100
I love this outfit, seriously, I want to go buy it. Lace + navy blue + gold + bows + wedged = outfit heaven.  The lace and bow belt are so dainy and feminim and the gold makes it a litted edgy.

Webster for Target Tiered Lace Dress $39.99
Asos.Com Bow Skinny Belt $9.94
Chinese Laundry Gum Drop Wedge $34.99
Total: $84.92

Outfit #3: Less than $200While this dress appears to ne navy, it is actually a gorgeous deep purple. I love the silhouette, which I think makes the dress a little sexy but still work place appropraite.

Ralph Lauren Ruched Polka Dot Dress $134.00
Women's Woven-Straw Wedges $29.94
Total: $163.94

I hope things gives you some ideas on appropriate, business causal work place attire.

What is your favorite thing to wear to work?

'Merica, Yeah!

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone enjoys a safe, festive, and firework filled holiday!

I am very excited for my 4th of July outfit. I drug my boyfriend to Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and Old Navy last night to find a patriotic dress!

While this is not the ideal way to display my outfit, I am sans photographer today. Matt is enjoying his day off work to the fullest with skeet shooting and beer. Even though we live in Northern Virginia, we like to embrace the southern aspects of our state. :) I am meeting up with everyone a little later for smoked brisket, potato salad, and other cook out goodies.

I thought this red and blue maxi dress screamed AMERICA! To accessorize, I am adding a chunky red necklace, blue sandals, and aviator glasses. All I am missing is a splash of white, and I could be in a Party in the USA parody video (PS- this one is my favorite.)

To complete the outfit, I plan to put my hair in a side braid, and rock the red lips. Happy 4th of July!

Sunday Love List

We wanted to share with everyone what our current loves are for the week! Check it out! :)

Al's Love List:
1. Faux Fur - I am LOVING faux fur for the fall/winter! It's so cozy and warm! My favorite faux fur pieces are vests and scarves! I especially love this faux fur scarf from Etsy!
2. Blinc Mascara - I received a sample of this Blinc Mascara in one of my Birchboxes. It is AWESOME! What I love most about it is that it doesn't smudge and comes off my eyelashes really easy - with just water and your fingers! It forms these little tubes around your lashes and doesn't flake or clump. It's waterproof even though it comes off with just water. The tubes won't come off your lashes unless you run your fingers over them too, so if you cry or its raining, they won't smudge! It's like magic!
3. A Very She & Him Christmas - Who doesn't love Zooey Deschanel? Well, her and M. Ward teamed up to form the music group, She & Him, and they are wonderful! Their Christmas album is lovely! Download it on iTunes or buy here on Amazon.
4. Desert boots - I give credit to my brother who started wearing desert boots a few years ago. I always wanted to get a pair and finally found some I liked that weren't too expensive. Desert boots are starting to pop up everywhere now; here are some cute ones from Old Navy! Stay tuned for some "What I Wore" posts with me wearing mine!
5. Vintage mugs - I started collecting vintage mugs and tea cups to put on display above my sink in my kitchen. I've found some really adorable ones from antique stores and even have a few that my mom has collected! I've found so many great mugs on Etsy! Here's a preview of the ones I found that I added to my Christmas list!
And those are my 5 "loves" of the week!
xoxo, AL

Victoria's Love List:

1. Nars Danimari All About the Cheeks Palette
I recently got this gorgeous blush palette from Sephora (with a 20% off coupon.) I love Nars blushes, they are amazing quality...but a little expensive. This is a great deal for the number of blushes in the palette. My favorite: Desire (the hot pink one!)
With winter right around the corner, my lips get so dry. I love this Lush Lip Scrub! And, unlike a lot of other lip scrubs it is only $8.50!
3. Rosebud Salve
To go with the lip scrub, this is one of my favorite lip balms. I've been using it a lot this week, it is also great on your knees, elbows, or anywhere else that get a little dry. I buy mine from Bath & Bodyworks.
4.  Glitter Flats
I've been on the search for the perfect pair of glittery flats to wear to a couple of holiday parties this year. I think they would be gorgeous with a black dress and black tights. I'm thinking about ordering these from DSW. But I'd love these adorable ones from Kurt Geiger- which I found on a UK site :(.
With my main TV that is hooked up to the cable broken, I am stuck with Netflix. I stumbled across The Vampire Diaries, and I think I am hooked. Beyond reading the Twilight books, I never jumped on the vampire bandwagon. But, The Vampire Diaries might change my mind!
